Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 13 April 2026
Welcome to PrintYard ("Platform", "we", "us", "our"). PrintYard is an EU-focused two-sided marketplace that connects clients seeking 3D printing services ("Clients") with verified printing partners ("Partners"). By accessing or using our Platform at printyard.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. Definitions
- "Client" — a registered user who uploads 3D models, places orders, and receives bids from Partners.
- "Partner" (Printing Partner) — a verified business or individual who bids on and fulfils 3D printing orders.
- "Order" — a request by a Client for one or more 3D-printed items, including specifications such as material, colour, infill, and quality.
- "Bid" — a price and delivery-time offer submitted by a Partner in response to an Order.
- "Model" — a 3D design file (STL, 3MF, OBJ, or STEP format) uploaded to or curated on the Platform.
- "Platform Fee" — the 20 % commission applied to every completed order, calculated as a markup on the Partner's price.
2. Account Registration & Eligibility
2.1. You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction.
2.2. You may register using an email address and password, or via Google OAuth single sign-on. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
2.3. Each user is assigned a role upon registration: Client, Printing Partner, or Administrator. The default role for new users is Client.
2.4. Partner accounts require additional verification (company name, address, VAT number) and are subject to manual approval by PrintYard before the Partner may submit bids. We reserve the right to reject or revoke Partner verification at our sole discretion.
2.5. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it updated. We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain materially inaccurate information.
3. Platform Services & Role of PrintYard
3.1. PrintYard operates as an intermediary marketplace. We facilitate the connection between Clients and Partners but are not a party to the manufacturing contract between them.
3.2. We do not manufacture, ship, or inspect 3D-printed goods. The Partner is solely responsible for print quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with applicable product-safety regulations.
3.3. The Platform provides: model browsing, file upload, order creation, competitive bidding, secure payment processing, order tracking, messaging, reviews, and notifications.
4. Orders & Bidding Process
4.1. A Client creates an Order by specifying one or more 3D models, quantities, material preferences, colour, infill percentage, and quality level (draft, standard, or fine).
4.2. Verified Partners may submit Bids on open Orders. Each Bid includes the Partner's price, estimated delivery time, and optional notes or alternative material suggestions.
4.3. The Client may accept one Bid per Order. Once accepted, the Order moves to payment. Bids may expire according to the expiration date set by the Partner.
4.4. Partners may withdraw a Bid at any time before it is accepted by the Client.
5. Pricing, Fees & Payment
5.1. All prices on the Platform are displayed in euros (EUR).
5.2. The price shown to the Client includes a 20 % Platform Fee on top of the Partner's quoted price. For example, if a Partner bids €100, the Client pays €120, of which €20 is retained by PrintYard.
5.3. The Platform Fee, Partner amount, and Client total are calculated and recorded immutably at the time the Bid is accepted. These amounts are not subject to retrospective adjustment.
5.4. Payments are processed securely by Mollie B.V., a PCI DSS-compliant payment service provider based in the Netherlands. PrintYard never stores or handles your credit card details directly.
5.5. Payment must be completed before production begins. Orders that remain unpaid may be cancelled.
5.6. Partner payouts are processed after order completion, subject to the terms of the Partner Agreement.
6. Order Lifecycle & Cancellation
6.1. Orders progress through the following statuses: Pending Bids → Bidding Closed → Bid Accepted → Payment Pending → Paid → In Production → Shipped → Delivered → Completed.
6.2. An Order may be cancelled by the Client before payment is completed. Once payment is confirmed and production has begun, cancellation is subject to the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6.3. Orders may also be marked as Disputed if a quality or delivery issue arises. Disputes are reviewed by PrintYard and resolved according to our dispute-resolution procedures.
7. 3D Models & Intellectual Property
7.1. The Platform hosts 3D models from multiple sources: user uploads, curated Creative Commons (CC0, CC-BY) models, and commercially licensed content.
7.2. By uploading a Model, you represent and warrant that you own or have sufficient rights to the design, and that the Model does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
7.3. You grant PrintYard a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute thumbnails and previews of your Model on the Platform for the purpose of facilitating orders.
7.4. Each Model on the Platform carries a licence type (e.g., CC0, CC-BY, Commercial, Restricted). Users must comply with the applicable licence terms when downloading or printing a Model.
7.5. PrintYard respects intellectual property rights and will respond promptly to valid take-down requests in accordance with applicable EU law, including the Digital Services Act.
8. Reviews & Ratings
8.1. After an Order is delivered, the Client may leave a review (rating from 1 to 5 and an optional comment) for the Partner.
8.2. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and must not contain abusive, defamatory, or misleading content.
8.3. PrintYard reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
9. User Obligations
9.1. You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including EU consumer protection and product safety regulations.
9.2. You must not upload models of prohibited items, including but not limited to: weapons, weapon components, items that infringe intellectual property, counterfeit goods, or items that violate applicable laws.
9.3. You must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy at all times.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PrintYard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform.
10.2. PrintYard's total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the total Platform Fees you have paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10.3. PrintYard is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or timely delivery of goods produced by Partners. Any disputes regarding the physical product are between the Client and the Partner, though PrintYard may facilitate resolution.
10.4. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Suspension & Termination
11.1. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law. Where possible, we will provide notice and a reason for the suspension.
11.2. You may close your account at any time by contacting info@printyard.io. Outstanding orders or payment obligations must be settled before account closure.
11.3. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) shall remain in effect.
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1. We encourage users to resolve disputes amicably through the Platform's built-in dispute mechanism.
12.2. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Slovenia, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence provide otherwise.
12.3. EU consumers may also submit complaints via the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Governing Law
13.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Slovenia and applicable EU regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Digital Services Act, and the Consumer Rights Directive.
13.2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14. Changes to These Terms
14.1. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect.
14.2. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
