Book (DiceBox) of the Dead - The Mummy

This is a remix of the remix poblockim's Book of the Dead model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4153270 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4713357 I wanted to make a dice box, pencil, ... for a friend who plays tabletop RPGs. And since we mainly play D&D, and there are huge makers, I wanted to incorporate props that I found to track spells and hit points. (we see them on one of the photos). I made the box in 5mm plywood with a saw, a cutter. Wood filler to smooth it all out and varnish to finish. I added the printed parts to it. The latches are removable and allow the cover to be released with the beetles. For that I use an M6 rod which crosses all the pieces of the slice. BE CAREFUL to only glue the end caps to the rod once the other parts have been inserted so that the latches remain removable. Small neodym magnets are inserted into the latches and beetles to "close" the box. BE CAREFUL to place the beetles last so that the latch / beetle holes are face to face. For better grip, I still added magnets between the box and the cover to keep the cover in place even when the latches are removed. (we don't see them in the photos: there is a magnet in each corner of the box.) The effects in wood are achieved with a dremel. I have attached the blender file that I worked on. I left all modifiers unapplied if you want to change the size of the magnets, rod, etc ... If you are using the model as is you will need: - 8 to 12 magnets 5mm in diameter and 2mm high - 1 rod (not necessarily threaded) 6mm in diameter and about 190mm (for the left edge) - 2 rods (not necessarily threaded) 6mm in diameter and about 30mm (for the right edge) - 2 wood panels 5mm x 200mm x 160mm - a box of 30mm x 190mm x 150mm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
