Onewheel XR Wraparound Armor

By Randy82103Source

Update 20200604: I have been playing with a full TPU Wraparound armor and found that it's nicer for setting the Onewheel on the floor in my house for example. What I found is that the soft corner pieces pull up on the double stick tape, so I re-sliced this object so that there is a significant amount of straight material on both sides of the corners. Uploaded "v2" 123dx and STL, and v2 pictures which are the black and white variant. I didn't want to trash the onewheel immediately (I managed to do it anyway, but that's a different story), so I designed this wraparound armor as a follow-on to my extended sidekicks. This is designed to work with Float Plates and Fender Delete, though it should also work with a fender in place, as long as the fender doesn't go over the edge of the rail. The great thing about this is that, from most angles, no part of the onewheel is exposed to the road. You can set it on the ground with the handle and kick it to get the wheel down without scratching any part of the stock object. same is true when using stock handle, can set down on the tail without scratching it on the ground. Once the end pieces are printed, they will need to be heated and flexed. I'd love to see a TPU print but didn't have the right color TPU. The end pieces will likely need a few "links trimmed off, but that can vary with the temp used to bend them. The interface between side plates and end piece isn't perfect, but it works I printed this in ABS and used the colorprint option to highlight the different depths, and I think it looks pretty nice!
